Western Juniper - Juniperus occidentalis

The Western Juniper (Juniperus occidentalis) is a pyramidal coniferous evergreen native to the Southwestern United States. This plant is ideal for naturalizing, and can tolerate some pruning to keep in a landscape, but looks best left alone. This plant has no negatives of note. The species is often used in hybridizing other cultivars, but native species is not common in production.
