The Japanese Kerria, Japanese Rose (Kerria japonica) is a spreading deciduous flowering shrub with a naturalizing habit. This plant has a suckering habit a soft texture, and will bloom all summer if cut back periodically. Do not plant near environmentally sensitive areas. The species can become invasive. The species has escaped into nature in several states including AL, CT, IL, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, UT, and VA. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
