The Chaparral (Larrea divaricata) is a large shrub or small tree ideal for arid gardens and landscapes. This species is more rambling and spreading tha other Larrea. It has year round foliage, and a flower that lasts from spring until fall. It is a good naturalizer as it spreads by root. Because of the recurring blooms this plant is often seeding at the same time and can look a little rough. The native species is most common in production.
