The Plum Delight Fringe-flower (Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum 'Plum Delight') is an evergreen or deciduous flowering shrub for landscapes and gardens. The new growth emerges red and turns green in summer with a pink flower for about eight weeks in spring. Shearing can destroy this plant's habit. It can also defoliate during winter in zones 6 and 7. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
