Cat Claw Vine - Macfadyena unguis-cati

The Cat Claw Vine (Macfadyena unguis-cati) is a flowering broadleaf evergreen vine for landscapes and gardens. This plant is a voracious climber with cat claw like appendages that it uses to grip any surface. The yellow flowers are prolific and similar to that of a Trumpet Vine. This plant can root and spread when it comes in contact with the ground. It needs to be grown in a controlled environment or it can be invasive. The native species is most common in production. This plant is a member of the Bignonia family, and photos from other Bignonia will aid with identification.
