Sweetbay Magnolia - Magnolia virginiana

The Sweetbay Magnolia (Magnolia virginiana) is a broadleaf evergreen flowering tree for landscapes, gardens, and naturalizing. This is probably the most fragrant Magnolia, and is capable of reblooming into fall. It is also capable of being pruned back and tolerant of drought and pollution. This species will defoliate during winter in colder climates. The native species is most common in production.
