The Saucer Magnolia (Magnolia X soulangiana) is a deciduous flowering tree for landscapes and gardens. This is one of the three most planted species of Magnolia. It is often called "Tulip Tree" (incorrectly), and one of the best climbing trees due to the large low forking branches. This species blooms a little earlier than native varieties and may get burned by frost. It has escaped into nature and become invasive in parts of OH and PA. The native species is most common in production.
