Compact Oregon Grape - Mahonia aquifolium 'Compacta'

The Compact Oregon Grape (Mahonia aquifolium 'Compacta') is a broadleaf evergreen shrub for landscapes, gardens, and naturalizing native to areas on both coasts. This plant has bright yellow flowers in summer followed by blue berries in fall, and glossy green leaves that turn red in fall and purple in winter. This species is extremely prickly and miserable to prune or touch. This is a naturally occurring cultivar of Mahonia aquifolium.
