Japanese Flowering Crabapple - Malus floribunda

The Japanese Flowering Crabapple (Malus floribunda) is a deciduous flowering tree for landscapes and gardens. Crabapples are one of the most prolific bloomers in spring with big puffy tufts of blossoms, and a fruit that is desirable for jams. The fruit can be messy when dropping, but this is one of the most disease resistant varieties. This is a cultivated variety of Malus that has escaped into nature and become in invasive in CT, DC, KS, LA, MA, NY, OH, OR, and PA.
