The Western Crabapple (Malus fusca) is a deciduous flowering tree for landscapes, gardens and naturalizing that is native to the West Coast. Crabapples are one of the most prolific bloomers in spring with big puffy tufts of blossoms, and a fruit that is desirable for jams. Crabapples are prone to fungus especially in the presence of Cedars, and the fruit can be messy when dropping. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
