Tea Crabapple - Malus hupehensis

The Tea Crabapple (Malus hupehensis) is a deciduous flowering tree for landscapes and gardens. Crabapples are one of the most prolific bloomers in spring with big puffy tufts of blossoms, and a fruit that is desirable for jams. This variety has longer and more pendulous branches than most varieties. Crabapples are prone to fungus especially in the presence of Cedars, and the fruit can be messy when dropping. The native species is most common in production.
