Mangle Dulce - Maytenus phyllanthoides

The Mangle Dulce (Maytenus phyllanthoides) is a broadleaf evergreen shrub for warm climate landscapes and gardens. This is a rambling and mounding shrub that is great on banks or in gardens with a naturalized feel. The gray green leaves in winter are one of the main attractions. The flowers go almost unnoticed and produce a very few red berries. The native species is most common in production.
