The Pacific Waxmyrtle (Myrica californica) is a broadleaf evergreen shrub for landscapes, gardens, and naturalizing that is native to the West Coast. This plant has glossy evergreen leaves and red catkins (flowers) in spring that are also attractive. It has a suckering habit that is great for hedges and naturalizing. This plant has no negatives of note. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
