Baseball Bat Cactus, Kalapari - Neoraimondia herzogiana

The Baseball Bat Cactus, Kalapari (Neoraimondia herzogiana) is a very columnar cactus ideal for arid landscapes and gardens. This plant is very distinctive with the bulbous upper portion, and looks somewhat like a weapon when young. The blue coloration at the needle base and the early spring flowers are very unique to cactus. You will definitey see the resemblance to a weapon when you experience these thorns. They hurt just to look at. The native species is most common in production.
