Tree Bear Grass - Nolina matapensis

The Tree Bear Grass (Nolina matapensis) is a smaller in height palm tree for arid landscapes and gardens. When juvenile this plant is often mistaken for a grass due to the small flowers on clusters of 6 foot tall panicles. With age the trunk definitley establishes the tree look. This plant has no negatives of note. The native species is most common in production.
