The Indian Fig (Opuntia ficus-indica) is a tree form cactus for arid landscapes, gardens, and fruit production. This is a very easy to grow cactus widely cultivated for the fruit and medicinal use of the plant's parts. This plant is an ivasive species that has naturalized in AZ, CA, FL, GA, HI, NC, NM, TX. The native species is most common in production. This plant is commonly referred to as a cactus, but due to the "Woody" parts is technically a succulent.
