Old Man of the Andes - Oreocereus celsianus
The Old Man of the Andes (Oreocereus celsianus) is a columnar cactus for arid landscapes and gardens. This plant is noted for the white hair that encases it like an old man. Most people know it as a round container plant, but in the ground it becomes a column. The thorns on this cactus are needle-like and extremely sharp. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
