Sourwood - Oxydendrum arboreum

The Sourwood (Oxydendrum arboreum) is a medium sized flowering tree for landscapes, gardens, and naturalizing that is native to the Eastern United States. From flower, to seed, to fall color, to bark, this is one of the most visually entertaining trees in the native landscape. It is also coveted by bees and beekeepers for the Sourwood honey. This is a truly awesome tree. This species is difficult to transplant unless grown in a container. The native species is most common in production.
