The Sonoran Palo Verde (Parkinsonia X sonorae) is a medium sized deciduous tree for warm climare gardens and landscapes. This fast growing drought tolerant tree has a delicate texture but is tough as nails. This is a perfect speciment for urban use, and the bright green bark on the branches create great winter interest. This plant has no negatives of note. This species is a cross of Parkinsonia microphylla and Parkinsonia praecox. There are more cultivated varieties of this hybrid in production. Photos of the parent species will aid in identification.
