Amur Corktree - Phellodendron amurense

The Amur Corktree (Phellodendron amurense) is a medium sized deciduous shade tree for landscapes and gardens. This tree is mainly planted for it's bark and fall color. The seed is showy but can be messy. The species is considered invasive in the Eastern US. If planting is desired use non-fruiting males. The trees are easily sexed as males have yellow flowers, females have red ones (because they are evil). The native species is most common in production.
