Columnar Blue Spruce - Picea pungens var. glauca 'Fastigiata'

The Columnar Blue Spruce (Picea pungens var. glauca 'Fastigiata') is a columnar evergreen for landscapes, gardens, and containers. The columnar habit makes this plant suitable for tight spaces and foundations. The blue color is consistent with the species. The branches grow very vertical so frequent pruning to limit length or wiring is necessary to prevent ice damage or splitting apart with age. This is a cultivated variety of Picea pungens. Needle and cone photos are taken from the parent species for identification purposes.
