Knobcone Pine - Pinus attenuata

The Knobcone Pine (Pinus attenuata) is a fast growing forest tree in California and Oregon used most often in forestry. The cones attach to the trunk and bark and don't release seeds until triggered by extreme heat or fire. This is usually the first tree to reestablish areas after forest fires. This plant has no negatives of note. The native species is most common in production.
