Ocote Pine - Pinus herrerae

The Ocote Pine (Pinus herrerae) is a tall upright conifer native to the mountains of Mexico and gaining popularity in the subtropical United States. This plant is quickly gaining steam as a pulp and lumber tree in the coastal South of the United States as Pinus palustris is now endangered due to habitat exploitation. This plant has no negatives of note. The native species is most common in production.
