Longleaf Pine - Pinus palustris

The Longleaf Pine (Pinus palustris) is an upright conifer for landscapes, gardens, and naturalizing. This is plant is now and endangered specis due to the development along the coast. Young plants go through a grass like phase and rely on a burn cycle to reproduce. Unfortunately this isn't often welcomed by all the people with third homes along the ocean. This plant has no negatives of note. The native species is most common in production.
