Guamuchil - Pithecellobium dulce

The Guamuchil (Pithecellobium dulce) is a medium sized fruit producing tree for landscapes and gardens. This plant has been introduced to the US for the highly desired fruit. It also has a prolific flower in spring. Unfortunately this plant spreads rapidly by seed and is becoming invasive where it is introduced. The native species is most common in production.
