Willow Pittosporum - Pittosporum phillyraeoides

The Willow Pittosporum (Pittosporum phillyraeoides) is a small flowering tree for warm climate landscapes and gardens. This plant has beautiful weeping folliage and draping yellow flowers. It produces what looks like a delicious little apricot, until it ripens and opens to reveal itself as a seed pod. Unfortunately this plant spreads rapidly by seed and is becoming invasive where it is introduced. The native species is most common in production.
