Oriental Arborvitae - Platycladus orientalis
The Oriental Arborvitae (Platycladus orientalis) is a large evergreen tree or medium sized pyramidal specimen for landscapes and gardens. This plant can be pruned to a 10 foundation specimen, but is much more impressive in the native canopy procuding form. Most often this is used in the manicured form, but true Arborvitae are far better suited for this in the long run. There are more cultivated varieties of this plant in production.
