The Mexican Bamboo (Polygonum cuspidatum) is a noxious invasive weed that should never planted and eradicated whenever possible. This plant looks like bamboo in winter but leafs out like a broadleaf in summer. This is considered to be one of the most invasive weeds throughout the United States and even into Canada. No reputable nursery should still be producing this plant.
