The Hardy Orange (Poncirus trifoliata) is a medium sized flowering tree for landscapes and gardens. This plant is grown for it's fragrant flowers in colder climates and used as rootstock in warmer climates. This species needs protection from winter winds. The fruit is edible but undesirable as it is extremely bitter and seedy. There are a few varieties of this species in production but more often has other varieties grafted to it.
