Cottonwood - Populus trichocarpa

The Cottonwood (Populus trichocarpa) is one of the fastest and largest growing shade trees in the United States. These are giant fast growing trees great for creating shade on farms and in parks. This tree drops lots of debris and probably shouldn't be planted in high traffic areas. The native species is most common in production.
