Gray Poplar - Populus X canescens

The Gray Poplar (Populus X canescens) is a medium sized to large shade tree for landscapes and gardens. The crisp leaves make an Aspen like sound in the breeze. The bicolored leaves can actually change the color of the tree in the wind. This tree drops lots of debris and probably shouldn't be planted in high traffic areas. This is a cultivated hybrid of Populus alba x Populus tremula.
