Carolina Cherrylaurel - Prunus caroliniana

The Carolina Cherrylaurel (Prunus caroliniana) is a large shrub or small tree native to the "Low Country" of the Southeastern United States. The nice lush evergreen leaves can be pruned into a hedge or screen. This is best used like a native Rhododendron where it can roam and rejuvenate. This plant has no negatives of note. This species is often confused with Prunus laurocerasus and there are a few cultivars in production, but the native species is most common.
