Dream Catcher Flowering Cherry - Prunus 'Dream Catcher'
The Dream Catcher Flowering Cherry (Prunus 'Dream Catcher') is a medium sized flowering tree for landscapes and gardens. This plant is grown for it's burgundy foliage and delicate flower in spring. It is supposed to be fruitless, but may produce a very small berry similar to the wild cherry. Flowering cherries are prone to winter kill from late freezes. Winter water is the best prevention. This is a cultivated variety of Prunus x incam 'Okame'.
