Dwarf Flowering Almond - Prunus glandulosa

The Dwarf Flowering Almond (Prunus glandulosa) is a medium sized flowering shrub found mainly in landscapes and gardens across the country. This is one of the earliest pink flowering shrubs. It is often seen in old gardens with Forsythia since they bloom at the same time. This species can get a little leggy and full of dead wood. Cutting it back and removing the dead will rejuvenate it. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
