European Birdcherry - Prunus padus

The European Birdcherry (Prunus padus) is a medium sized flowering tree for landscapes and gardens. This variety has an incredible flower, great fall color, and the red stem and black berries in late summer also add to the show. This plant is prone to Aphids and can develop a deforming disease as a result. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
