The Paperbark Cherry (Prunus serrula) is a medium sized flowering tree for landscapes and gardens. This variety has a nice flower, but is mostly planted for the exfoliating bark. This plant is susceptible to cankers and borers. This species is most often used as a cross for hybrids of Prunus serrulata to create bark interest.
