Ukon Flowering Cherry - Prunus serrulata 'Ukon'
The Ukon Flowering Cherry (Prunus serrulata 'Ukon') is a medium sized flowering tree for landscapes and gardens. This tree is fruitless and more upright than other varieties. The flowers open pure white and then turn pink by pedal drop. Flowering cherries are prone to winter kill from late freezes. Winter water is the best prevention. This is a cultivated variety of Prunus serrulata.
