Whitcomb Weeping Cherry - Prunus subhirtella 'Whitcomb'

The Whitcomb Weeping Cherry (Prunus subhirtella 'Whitcomb') is a medium sized flowering tree for landscapes and gardens. This fruitless variety has a nice pink flower, but is most noted for having more of a Magnolia branching habit than other cherries. Flowering cherries are prone to winter kill from late freezes. Winter water is the best prevention. This is actually a naturally occurring cultivated variety of Prunus subhirtella.
