Chokecherry - Prunus virginiana

The Chokecherry (Prunus virginiana) is a medium to large flowering shrub native to woodlands of the Eastern United States and often found tree form in gardens. This is a great naturalizing shrub for borders with reliable blooms, great fall color and a red to purple berry the birds love. The suckering habit needs room to roam. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
