Firethorn - Pyracantha speciosa

The Firethorn (Pyracantha speciosa) is a large broadleaf evergreen shrub ideal for borders and impervious hedges. This plant has a heavy spring flower show with brilliant orange berries from late summer to early spring. The species is prone to rust, is extremely thorny and miserable to prune. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
