Chestnut Oak - Quercus castaneifolia

The Chestnut Oak (Quercus castaneifolia) is a large deciduous shade tree for landscapes and gardens. This species has a much broader habit than most Eastern Oaks and creates much less mess than a Burr Oak. This plant is naturalizing in small pockets of the Southeast and could be considered invasive. The native species is most common in production.
