Shingle Oak - Quercus imbricaria

The Shingle Oak (Quercus imbricaria) is a medium sized deciduous shade tree native to the Eastern United States. This is one of the better trees for urban use and street trees. The lateral branches limb up well and can still provide a canopy but be cleared of buildings and roads. This plant has no negatives of note. The native species is most common in production.
