Chinkapin Oak - Quercus muehlenbergii

The Chinkapin Oak (Quercus muehlenbergii) is a large deciduous shade tree native to most states East of the Rockies. This tree has a great upright habit and often has a nice curving trunk. This tree has a deeper root system than other oaks which makes it good for underplanting in landscapes. This plant has no negatives of note. The native species is most common in production.
