Scrub Live Oak - Quercus turbinella  

The Scrub Live Oak (Quercus turbinella) is a large broadleaf evergreen shrub native to the desert mountains of the Southwestern United States. This plant is very drought tolerant and adaptable to many soils. It forms prickly thickets that are ideal for wildlife habitat. This plant has no negatives of note. The native species is most common in production.
