Forrest Rhododendron - Rhododendron forrestii ssp. forrestii

The Forrest Rhododendron (Rhododendron forrestii ssp. forrestii) is a broadleaf evergreen groundcover for landscapes and gardens. Single trumpet shaped red flowers on creeping flat branches make this a great groundcover for shady gardens. This plant does not like to have mulch over the branches or to be buried in leaves for extended periods of time. The native species is most common in production.
