Discolor Rhododendron - Rhododendron fortunei ssp. discolor

The Discolor Rhododendron (Rhododendron fortunei ssp. discolor) is a medium sized to large broadleaf evergreen shrub for landscapes and gardens. This species has mid to late season blooms that emerge pink to lavender. It is also known for the erect emerging leaves and red casings they shed. It is always best to make sure Rhododendron are well watered going into hard freezes. The native species is most common in production.
