The Hippophaeoides Rhododendron (Rhododendron hippophaeoides var. hippophaeoides) is a small flowering broadleaf evergreen shrub for gardens and landscapes. This species is more compact than most Rhododendron with a smaller leaf and flower. The compact habit makes it difficult for this plant to "breath" and more susceptible to root rot. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
