Purple Splendor Azalea - Rhododendron 'Purple Splendor'
The Purple Splendor Azalea (Rhododendron 'Purple Splendor') is a small to medium sized broadleaf evergreen shrub for landscapes and gardens. This variety is very cold hardy and sun tolerant. It is also a reliable bloomer that responds well to pruning. The compact habit makes this Azalea prone to spider mites in hotter locations. This variety is one of the Gable Hybrid Azaleas. Don't confuse this with Rhododendron 'Purple Splendour'.(note the spelling difference)
