The Thomson Rhododendron (Rhododendron thomsonii ssp. thomsonii) is a medium to large broadleaf evergreen shrub for gardens and landscapes. This species has deep crimson bell shaped flowers with a dangling habit on round leaves. It also has a great cinnamon colored bark. This plant has no negatives of note. The native species is most common in production.
