Shiny Sumac - Rhus glaucescens

The Shiny Sumac (Rhus glaucescens) is a broadleaf evergreen flowering tree for warm season landscapes, and gardens. This plant is a nice small tree for an accent or border planting. It takes a little work to develop a nice visible trunk, but is well worth the effort. This plant can defloliate in zone 8 during winter and zone 9 in severe winters, but is most commonly in leaf year round. The native species is most common in production.
